"While having sick child(ren) is a hardship for most families, it is important that parent/guardian enact the Golden Rule (do unto others as you would have them do unto you) in that if you wouldn't want your child(ren) playing with a sick child that exhibits certain illnesses, then the same holds true for them as well. Dropping off children knowing they are not feeling well creates not only a major health risk to all children but is terribly unfair to the sick child as well."

For the protection of your Child, children who display signs of a contagious illness such as diarrhea, pink eye, vomiting, rashes, lice or a temperature of 100.6 degrees or above, will not be admitted to the childcare home.  Children who become ill while in care will be isolated, when possible, from the group.  Parent/Guardian or other emergency contacts will be notified immediately and will be expected to pick up the Child within 60 minutes.

Your Child may return to care 24 clock hours AFTER symptoms of illness end.  Which means if your child(ren) is sent home with fever, diarrhea or vomiting they cannot return to care until they have been symptom free for 24 clock hours without the aid of medications.  Please do not bring your child(ren) to me medicated or drop off in the am knowing your child(ren) is not feeling well or could be contagious.  I will be sending the child back home with you.

If your child(ren) is seen by a Doctor for a question of illness or any medical procedure (i.e. CT Scan, Blood Work, Immunizations), the child(ren) must be monitored by a Parent/Guardian for the remainder of the day.  The child(ren) may return to child care the following day provided there are no further signs of illness or side effects due to the procedure that was performed.

Doctor

Your Child may come to care if they have a common cold (slight cough, clear runny nose, sneezing).  Provider will call Parent/Guardian if the child(ren) is just plain miserable (whining, crying or repeatedly asking for you).  Provider reserves the right to determine when child should be sent home.

If Provider or Provider’s children become ill, Provider will inform Parent/Guardian immediately if illness is contagious.  It will be at the sole discretion of the Parent/Guardian whether or not to bring their child(ren) to Provider home for care.  If Provider remains open, regular fees will still apply.  On the rare occasion Provider closes due to Provider illness, Parent/Guardian will not be responsible for payment for that day.
